You're on a research ship on your way to what could very well be the highlight of your career: an expedition to the restricted Kalelian Archipelago. For centuries, the Isles have been closely monitored and heavily protected by the country of A; not allowing anyone close to the place but a few of their population: The "Alightened".  (They've even found a way to hinder our satellites useless if we try to survey the area.

Now, as part of a diplomatic incentive with our countries, the leaders of A have agreed to allow a small research group into one of the Isles.

Oh, what a wonderful day this is!!

Surrounded by some of the world's most brilliant minds and soon to become the first foreigners in over 500 years to  set foot on the Isles, nothing can dampen my excitement.

Really, what could possibly go wrong?
